JUANDE SAYS GOODBYE TO CSKA AND THE FANS 28/10/2009   10:43:02

Following the agreement to cancel the contract between CSKA and Juande Ramos, and just as the Spanish Coach prepares to return to Spain, Juande wishes to thank the employees, the team and the fans for the way he was treated during his time at the Moscow Club.

“Before I leave Moscow I want to give my best wishes to CSKA. They are a group of young footballers who have amazing prospects. With the discipline and hard work that is characteristic of them, and which they have demonstrated to us, I am sure that they have a great future ahead of them in the football world.  But they should be patient and think about the need for a period of adaptation when change occurs. Sir Alex Ferguson defined us well when he said that CSKA have good raw material but that youth and lack of experience can be a handicap. This can be solved with time and I am convinced that CSKA has the human and professional resources to be able to give an important qualitative leap forward.

This is why I wanted to firstly address the footballers, but I also want to thank the Club and tell them how grateful I am for the opportunity they have given me to continue my professional development and to experience another culture in a country that I believe has an enormous future. To all the employees, to Antonio, to Alex… thank you so much for your kindness and for making us feel so welcome.

Lastly, I want to thank the fans, all those who have supported us and welcomed us so affectionately. Now that CSKA are beginning a new project I ask them to believe in the team and be patient with them, and I am sincerely grateful for the way they have treated me. Thank you again and good luck.”

Best wishes,

Juande Ramos
